Grande Prairie Hats

November 20, 2011

I am very proud and excited to share my new collection with you. Grande Prairie Hats (ravelry link) is now available! 6 hat patterns and an eBook exclusive mitten pattern are included, along with some tips for embellishing, lots of pictures, and some poetic paragraphs, some of which are true, some are speculation.

The hat patterns are also available individually. The patterns for Frivolity and Frippery include a second pdf which has tips for embellishing them.

My dad was the photographer for this book, and he took so many great shots that I couldn’t use them all. I will show them to you here. Today we will talk about the Janette hat. All hats in this collection are worked from the top down. (Bregdan and Leanne are not technically hats, I am told, and are not worked from the top down.) Janette is written for worsted weight handspun or commercial yarn. Here she is made with Lysander from Three Irish Girls, handspun by Audrey K. I love Aud’s handspun, she has a knack for soft and strong yarn.

Here are more photos showing the same hat worked with Three Irish Girls Felicity. .

The first person to comment on this post and tell me your favorite hat in this collection and their ravelry id (or email if you aren’t on Rav) will be given a half price coupon for either their favorite pattern or the whole eBook.

Trisha, they are all wonderful! The photos are great. My favorite is Frippery, I think perhaps because it looks so lovely on the model! :-)
