A winner and a hat

November 23, 2011

Congratulations Padenamy! You were chosen as the winner by the highly scientific method of asking a 5 year old to chose a number. (I don’t use the for personal reasons.) I will send you your coupon code shortly.

Sorry for the delay in posting, we had some issues come up yesterday that took over our whole day. Some good, some not so good. But here we are, talking about Grande Prairie Hats again. Today’s featured hat is Frivolity. The hat itself is simple, worked with large needles and Charlotte Bronte aran or Lindon merino held double, it is fast to knit. After fulling the hat in the washing machine, and letting it dry (this can take a long time as the fabric is so thick.), the fun begins. Decorate your hat with all manner of sparkly and frilly things. The world is your oyster.

The pattern includes a seperate pdf with tips and instructions on embellishing your hat.

Today’s winner will be decided by a draw of names. Comment on this post to tell me your favorite design in this collection, and just to mix things up a little bit, tell me  what the weather is like at your house. We have a lot of snow here.

No snow….it’s around 0°C, gray and dreary, but no rain. I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of sun, but otherwise I don’t mind it. Crisp…nice for a brisk walk.

My favourite hat in the collection is Bregdan, though I suppose it technically isn’t a hat. I love the feather decorations on Frippery and Frivolity, but they just aren’t me. Too bad…

I have to say my favourite is actually Frivolity; I love the basic shape and you could leave it undecorated if you desired.

I really love the cables on Bregdan, so that is my favorite today ;). Our weather has been very warm but kind of humid which means icy roads tonight and possibly snow or rain in the coming days.
