Samovar Roll Call – Camp Loopy Check In

July 2, 2011

We are entering the second half of the Camp Loopy Project One challenge, so I thought it would be fun to check in with a few of my friends who are also knitting Samovars using Three Irish Girls Glenhaven Cashmerino.

First up is Audrey’s Camping Aud Style. Knit using Bryn (shown) and Saoirse (border, not yet started), Aud’s nearing the end of the center section.  The bright and colorful Bryn is lovely in this pattern, and I can’t wait to see it once the Saoirse border has been added.

Next, we have Amy M’s Tidepool. She has chosen to pair Estuary (shown) and Eaven (border, not yet started) for a more subdued but just as beautiful shawl. Amy’s working her way through the body of her shawl as time allows – often with coffee, as shown in this photo!

Last but not least, we have Amy K’s Loopy Samovar. Knit, once more, in Three Irish Girls Glenhaven Cashmerino in Mairin (center) and Enna (border), Amy is working on the final section! I must admit that I was tempted by these colors when I was looking at yarn for my own Samovar (along with the Estuary + Eaven that Amy M. is using), but Amy K. beat me to it ;)

Today also marks the day that the second round of Camp Loopy was announced – the new challenge is to knit CABLED socks, mittens or gloves.  I’m already thinking about my yarn & pattern choices, how about you?

Next, look around your site for dry branches and bark of different sizes.

The FM transmitter included on the N8 made us smile with nostalgia, because it hearkens back to
a time when we actually cared about FM radio waves.
