Tesia and I live up here in the Pacific Northwest, where we enjoy basically wonderful weather.  Not too hot in the summer, not too cold in the winter, with nearby oceans and mountains to enjoy!  However, that means that when it *does* snow, we’re totally unprepared for it…

It’s been snowing off and on since yesterday afternoon, with little-to-no accumulation until this morning.  All day today, the students were whispering excitedly about a possible early dismissal (sorry, guys!) and a delay or cancellation for tomorrow.  After I cleared about 2″ of fresh powder off my car before leaving around noon, I thought perhaps they might be on the right track for tomorrow.

Coming home, the roads were fine – bare and wet – although the snow was definitely sticking on the ground and plants.  I’ve been home for several hours now, working on lesson plans (and a little knitting), and the snow just keeps falling!  People here just don’t know how to drive in the snow so the news and internet are full of horror stories about the evening commute…

It’s supposed to drop well below freezing and stay there overnight, so I imagine that traffic tomorrow will be even worse. The school districts are already announcing delayed starts for tomorrow.

What does this mean for our local knitting group tomorrow evening? Only time will tell….
