Strange Cat

The endless garter stitch project is still coming along – I am approximately 65% finished at this point, perhaps a bit closer to 70%.  It’s reached the point where it’s no longer terribly entertaining, but I’m trying to push through and finish it up so I can get back to a project I’ve put on hold to work on the blanket.

I’ve had the big plastic bag that the yarn came in sitting out on the living room floor all week for easy access, which has led to an interesting discovery.  My little cat Bella loves the bag. She’s always been a bit fascinated by bags in general (as long as they are stationary – she likes things on her terms), but this one is apparently extra special. It does make a nice noise when you touch it…

All week, she’s been curling up on or near this bag, sometimes sticking her paws inside, sometimes snuggling up next to it and sometimes pawing at it to hear the wonderful sound it makes. Forget about her cozy cat bed, or the perch in the sun, or the spot on our bed she usually prefers.  This week, Bella is all about the bag. She’s even brought her stuffed pumpkin over to keep her company while she hangs out.

What a strange cat!

She’s so pretty! It’s funny how they get with things like that. My cat, Dorian, likes to get into our reusable shopping bags when we come home from the store, and otherwise he is obsessed with boxes.

That is just adorable. I’ve only seen one other cat that would carry stuff around (aside from the dead mice and birds). My sister-in-law’s cat picks up her hairbands and carries them around, meowing the whole time. It’s the only time she meows.

Lizzy, both of ours carry stuff around at times, but Bella does it pretty regularly. It’s cute, and is usually accompanied by meowing..
